Creating the Space

So what did it take to go from an idea to a space?

Or from here: To here:

Or here: To here:

And here: To here:

Lots of help actually!

It took a great painter like Arnold to touch-up all the corners and mouldings and make the studio look crisp and clean. I still need to get him back for some more cleaning-up. He was careful and efficient, and did a great job. Please contact me if you would like to hire him!

Lukas and Vincent at Spoilt for Design took good care of me, and told me 'No!' when I needed to hear it. I can't thank them enough for listening to my ideas and then turning them into more than I expected! When you walk into the studio, know that they were behind all the details.

Ilan and Eben at Breinstorm created the design, which they believe (and I hope) will expand beyond the borders of a yoga studio and become a true yoga package. They took a small idea of mine and made it infinite.

Glynis at the Holistic Medical Centre coordinated the exterior grounds and gardens, along with Tom and Orphat. In a short time, Ekam has become a truly magical space where we can all pause for a moment of reflection either before getting on the mat, or just after leaving it.

So special thanks to the people above who have put in so much effort to Ekam already, and to all the people who listened to me talk about how I was going to build a yoga studio and call it Ekam and actually believed me!
